Fall Wedding Flowers

With fall just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about autumn wedding flowers.

Let the colors of the season inspire your wedding colors. Read more…Those beautiful, rich, warm oranges, reds, and yellows come through in the flowers of autumn. These flowers include: dahlias, sunflowers, zinnias, gerbera daisies, Asiatic lilies, gladiolus, marigolds, roses, orchids, and chrysanthemums. These blooms add that special touch of the season and remind you of fall.

Be creative with fall leaves, branches, crabapples, and miniature pumpkins. These items can add to the autumnal decor of your centerpieces and bouquets. Mixed with golds and greens and russets, you can truly celebrate the season. If you are looking to add a contrast or splash of color to these autumn hues, consider accenting your bouquets with a complementary color. Examples include adding blue cornflowers, delphinium, or statice to bouquets with orange flowers. Or purple flowers like lisianthus, hydrangeas, stock, or calla lilies can be used with yellow flowers like sunflowers.

This is also a perfect time of year to hold a wedding outdoors. The temperature is normally cooler than summer and the sunsets are perfect for a 6:00 wedding. Consider outdoor settings like a winery, with the vines changing color from green to browns and yellows. Or, how about an outdoor wedding under a large oak or sycamore tree, or inside an old barn? Even something as casual as using hay bales as seats instead of chairs can add an element of the season. For your table decorations, consider a simple basket, a hollowed out pumpkin, or a canning jar as a container for your fall blooms.
