Cambria Beach Elopement

Cambria Beach Elopement

One of the most romantic spots on the Central Coast of California is the seaside village of Cambria.   Nestled between towering pines and the shimmering Pacific Ocean, along Highway 1, it is the perfect spot for a wedding on the beach.

So, as the sun was setting on this beautiful fall day, the tide was high and the sea spray created a romantic mist in the air, this couple ventured onto the sand for their Cambria elopement.

The bride had waited ten years, and prayed that God would send her the right person to wed.   And, as she said, her groom was well worth the wait.

Lanterns and shells marked the path to their special spot on the beach, where tall silver vases filled with willow branches and pink star-gazer lilies set the stage.

Before the ceremony began, the couple walked to the rocky cliff where the photographer caught some touching moments.   Even before the ceremony began, the couple shed emotional tears of joy!   To me, it is so touching when the groom even sheds tears.

The ceremony began as the sun was making its descent.   During the ring ceremony, the groom paused as he placed the ring on his bride’s finger and pledged his faithfulness.   This heartfelt moment was then repeated, as the bride placed a ring on his finger.

Several times during the ceremony, the couple prayed to God, who had led them to this moment.   The first blessing was to thank God for their love for each other and to ask His blessing as they exchange vows and pledge their love for each other.   The second blessing was during the ring ceremony, praying that the rings be a symbol of their true faith in each other and always remind them of their love for each other.   Then, a final blessing was given for their new life together as husband and wife.   During this final blessing, they closed their eyes, put their heads together and prayed.

At the end of the ceremony, they sealed their love with a kiss, just as the sun slipped behind the clouds and cast a magical glow over the sand and the water.   What a beautiful backdrop for their final pictures!

As they return to their home in Texas, may they think often of this special moment on the Central Coast of California, where they exchanged their vows and pledged their love and faithfulness to each other.   Our wish is that their love grows stronger with each passing day and that they remain in each other’s embrace ‘til the end of time at their Cambria Beach Elopement.
